Star Wars is back to mystify and inspire a new generation of fans, thanks to Disney’s purchase of the franchise from George Lucas for $4.05 billion. Three decades after the defeat of the Empire, a new threat has emerged that threatens the fragile Republic, and heroes both new and old must rise to fight it. This film, directed by J.J. Abrams, came under scrutiny for largely lifting the plot of A New Hope and retooling it, but it is an undeniably entertaining entry to the Star Wars film canon.
