The galaxy’s most daring scoundrel has been given a (TOTALLY UNNECESSARY) movie of his own! Seriously though, there is no reason for this movie to exist, and the role of Han Solo is so quintessentially Harrison Ford that the idea of recasting him is risky and borderline silly. That being said, this is a light-hearted, funny and exciting entry to the Star Wars Disney franchise that is far better than it has any right to be, especially when you consider the behind the scenes turmoil and director swap that resulted in Ron Howard reshooting most of the movie. It’s got a great ensemble cast that features the likes of Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson and Donald Glover, and a decent-to-great performance by Alden Ehrenreich as Han. It won’t make everyone happy, but it’s undeniably entertaining.
