Every year, the President of the United States addresses congress and the American people on all that he and his administration accomplished during said year. The term, “The State of the Union”, was first coined by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and later became the official title under President Harry S. Truman. Back then, the President addressed the country via radio. The State of the Union has been a televised American tradition since President Lyndon Johnson first gave his televised address in 1965, and it has been streamed online since the reign of President George W. Bush.
